Farmer Post 2

Now that I have reached the end of the book, I can say that the book was a good read but not a book that I would choose to read on my spare time. Although the topics can be interesting, I am no interested in being a farmer or even in the process of farming. The positive takeaways that I took from this book is that although I did not love the content, the author is a very good story teller and generally easy to follow. Secondly, Although I do not want to be a farmer, I believe there is a lot of lessons in the book on life as an entrepreneur and how to start a business. One of the main parts that I didn't like about the book is the fact that the story is not told on a single timeline. He took an interesting strategy of splitting up the chapters by types of crops or animals as opposed to writing it in a sequential format. Although this format allowed for great detail on each crop or animal, it was tough to imagine how the farm looked as they time laps overlapped a lot. As a busine...

Job Description

Project Coordinator Project Coordinator is a very vague title where tasks vary based on the needs of your employer. What do you think about when you think of project coordinator? As a temporary project coordinator, I was able to fulfill projects that my employer wanted done but didn’t want to hire a year round employee to do. As a Project Coordinator for Garden Communities, I conducted a special project that would take a couple of months to complete. Garden Communities is a company that builds and leases apartments across southern California. My project consisted of market research on the leasing of company owned apartments and its competitors. This was a three-part project with various tasks within each level. I had to conduct research in-person, online and on the phone. For each of these parts, I learned about the different properties from a fresh perspective, took notes on of all the important information in regards to pricing, amenities and provided my opinion on the p...

FARMER Post 1

Growing a Farmer has been an entertaining book to start reading. I appreciate that the writer doesn't seem to be worried about writing in very fancy or complex English but is more worried about getting his story across in an easy to understand matter. I found it very interesting how he never planned his future too far in advanced which goes directly with his personality in being able to move into a large plot of land with no plan. Many people need to have goals and plans and the writer seems to be content just acting based on what will make him happy and makes sense on that specific day. This can be very hard for many people including myself to not have a plan or an idea of where you are headed in life so I commend him for that.        Another aspect of the beginning of the book that I enjoyed reading about was how he stated that the reason he does these unconventional things is simply because he was never told that they are unconventional...
WHO YOU ARE MATTERS              I was born in Monterrey, Mexico and grew up in San Diego, California where my family moved when I was just seven years old. I am a fraternal twin and we are the younger of four children. I come from a house with very strong Jewish values although we are not religious. As for where I am headed, that is something that I thought would be more clear at this stage in my life. While I came to college to find what I want to do, I have instead been introduced to so many things that I am so interested in that I have found myself with less of an idea of my exact direction. However, although it sometimes scares me, it mostly excites me. I may not know where I will live next year after graduating but what I do know is that I will be working in a completely different environment than I am in today and hopefully constantly learning and creating new experiences.              "Everyone is a refle...
